Welcome to my kitchen, where today I’m sharing a delicious and satisfying recipe for Crispy Buffalo Chicken Tacos. These tacos are a perfect combination of crispy, spicy and satisfying! If you’re a fan of buffalo chicken and tacos, this recipe will surely become a new favorite in your household (like they have in mine). Get ready to enjoy a burst of flavors and textures with every bite!
Making crispy chicken always seems daunting to me because of the ingredients and prep steps, but it’s actually quite simple! And it’s very easy to switch up depending on what you have in your pantry or your dietary needs/preferences. Here’s what you’ll need to get started:
Air-frying is a fantastic method for achieving crispy yet juicy chicken. The hot air circulation in the air fryer creates a crispy exterior while sealing in the chicken’s natural juices, resulting in tender and moist meat.
The use of minimal oil in the air fryer also makes it a healthier alternative to deep-frying, without compromising on the desired texture. With air-frying, you can enjoy the perfect balance of crispy and juicy chicken every time!
To get started, set up your “dredging” station. This includes a bowl for the flour, a bowl for the whisked eggs, a bowl for the breadcrumbs, and your washed/dried chicken. Pro Tip: you’ll want wider/flat bowls instead of smaller/curved bowls for easy dipping.
Dip each piece of chicken in the flour followed by the egg wash and the breadcrumbs. Then, set the chicken in the air-fryer. Repeat until you’ve used up all of your chicken.
To get the perfect air-fried chicken tenders, I like to “fry” it for about 6 minutes on 400 degrees F. Just make sure to pause it halfway through to flip the tenders for even cooking! Note: If you have too much chicken to fit in the air-fryer at once, you may need to do a few sets.
While the chicken is cooking, this is a great time to throw together the ranch slaw. Simply mix together the ranch ingredients (mayo, lime juice, dried dill, garlic powder and dried parsley) add toss with your slaw veggies. For an even easier option, opt for your favorite pre-made ranch dressing!
Once the chicken is done cooking, toss it with the buffalo sauce and if desired, cut the chicken into slices or bite-sized pieces.
Now it’s time to build the tacos: start with your tortilla, add the buffalo chicken and then top with ranch slaw… it’s that easy!
These Crispy Buffalo Chicken Tacos are perfect for a weeknight dinner, a gathering with friends, or even a game day snack. The crispy texture of the chicken tenders, combined with the spicy buffalo sauce and the creamy ranch slaw, creates a tantalizing flavor experience. Don’t forget to have some extra napkins handy, as these tacos can get delightfully messy. Enjoy this unique twist on taco night and savor every delicious bite!
